Chris Paul will be headed to the Lakers as part of a blockbuster three-team deal, multiple reports say. The Rockets are the third team in the trade, which is still being finalized. According to Yahoo! Sports, the Lakers will give up both Paul Gasol and Lamar Odom in order to acquire Paul. Houston will receive Gasol, while the Hornets add Houston’s Kevin Martin, Luis Scola and Goran Dragic along with Odom. The Rockets will also give the Hornets a 2012 first-round pick, which used to belong to the Knicks. No word yet on how this move will affect Odom’s recurring role on the Kardashians’ bevvy of reality shows.
After being pushed by other NBA owners, commissioner David Stern vetoed the trade, according to Yahoo! Sports. The fact that the Hornets are owned by the league was a major point of emphasis in lobbying Stern.
I didn’t know the NBA handled things like they do at Applebee’s when you complain your steak was undercooked, but okay.
